 OBITUARY 
James Renaldo McDonald, Jr. was born in Fernandina, Florida on February 28, 1931 to James and Mildred McDonald. He had one brother, Wilmot and two sisters, F. Ann and Dorothy. 
In 1948 at the age of 18, he began his military career with the Nationat Guard and in 1950 he was called to active duty with the US Army. He served in Germany and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. 
In 1956, he married Claire E. Morrison. This union produced three children, Carla Diane, James R. Ill, and Peter Neal McDonald. While raising his {amily he completed a Bachelors Degree at Suffolk University in 1962.' Having completed his degree, he began a career as a Field Service Engineer with Jarrell Ash Company which required extensive travel. During his career he traveled to all continents except Australia making nqmerous friends and acquaintances all over the world. He retired in 1992. 
Following his retirement he pursued a part time career as a travel agent. Through his association with the Caribbean Tourism Organization, he continued his passion for traveling and meeting people. 
On April 2, 1995 he was blessed with an addition to his family, Lawrence Marqui McDonald who brought a new light into his life. 
He was an extremely active member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, achieving lifetime membership in 1971. He was committed to causes he deemed important, including befriending New Bethel AMEChurch. 
He is survived by 4 children, Carla Diane Young (Rickey), James R. McDonald III (Rebecca), Peter Neal McDonald and Lawrence Marqui McDonald, and 2 sisters, F. Anne Syler and Dorothy C. Isaacs. He has 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Through his life, he has acquired innumerable acquaintances and friends who have come to be known as family. He will be missed by all.
