She attended Orange County Public Schools and graduated from Hungerford High School in 1946. Throughout her high school years and beyond she became known for her great oratorical expressions. At an early age she was a faithful member of Open Door Missionary Baptist Church. Later years she was saved under the leadership of Elder Wilson for eight years. She was later baptised in Jesus name and became a member of The Apostolic Church of Jesus, in Altamonte Springs in the year of 1968; she moved her membership to Eatonville Church under the leadership of Elder Cleveland Clark, Sr. There she served faithfully as Church Clerk and Superintendent of Sunday School, Past President of Missionary Department in 1953. She united in Holy Matrimony to the late Petty Ted McClain and to this union, One Son was born, Petty, Jr. She entered into Eternal rest Monday, January 23, 1989 and is survived by one devoted Son: Petty McClain, Jr.; a loving Mother: Mattie Jones; Three Sisters: Clemtine Davis, Elizabeth Taylor and Marion Baker; Three Brothers: Judson Jones, David Jones and Harold Jones; Three Aunts: Solona London, Hattie Jones and Omega Jones; One Uncle: Hezekiah Jones; One devoted Brother-in-law, Nathaniel Taylor; Nieces: Vernita Lark, Gail Davis, Marsha Davis, Kim Jones, Lagquinda Delaughter, Jeanette Davis, Velma Taylor; Nephews: Cornelius Jones, Clarence Davis, Gilbert Taylor, Elder Darryl Taylor, alving Delaughter and Harold Jones, Jr.; a devoted God-daughter: Cynthis Allen and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
