He departed from this life Sunday, December 11, 2005, at his home. He was married for 62 years to the late Mrs. Lola Mae Martin. Deacon Martin joined the Israel Missionary Baptist Church when it was on Daniel Street. He was a member of the Deacons' Ministry, Israel Male Chorus, the No. 2 Choir and the Pastor's Support Ministry. He will be forever remembered in the hearts and minds of his children, Rev. Joe David Nolan (Ellen), Winder, Georgia, Rev. James Roy Martin (Dorothy), Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Rovelma Martin Nagel, Decatur, Georgia, and Mrs. Mae B. Bennett (Waldo), Lithonia, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Mae Mell Pearson, Atlanta, Georgia; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Catherine Culbreath (Trollie), Middletown, Ohio, Mrs. Grace Carpenter (Joe), Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Luevenia Okelo of Middletown, Ohio; two brother-inlaws, Mr. Marcus Thompson (Lillie), Decatur, Georgia, and Mr. Arsby K.
