Collins, Pastor and Officiant "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8 Mrs. Ida Jean Lindsey, the oldest child of Joe Willie Green and the late Beatie Mickens Green, was born July 20, 1933 in Chester County. She entered eternal life Sunday, March 14, 2004. She graduated from Merry High School in 1953. Mrs. Lindsey was a retired cafeteria assistant at Lincoln Magnet Elementary School and a private housekeeper and caregiver. She was the widow of Leon Lindsey and a loving mother. She was preceded in death by a sister, Raymell Lee, and a brother, Joseph Green. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Gwenda (Eugene) Anthony of Jackson, Deborah (Charles) Shaw of Jackson, Gloria (FrcddiA) Chapman of Lawrenceville, GA, and Mary (Demetreis) Richburg of Conyers, GA; two sons: Gregory Green of Jackson and Eric (Kim) Lindsey of Covington, GA; her father, Joe Willie Green of Jackson; one sister, Barbara Stewart of Jackson; two brothers, Bishop Rickey (Debra) Green of Jackson and Robert (Lois) Green of Warrensville Heights, OH; a sister-in-law, Geree Green of Detroit, Ml; a dear uncle and aunts: Otis Trice of Jackson and Marie Mickens and Zelia Mickens of Henderson; a devoted friend, Giady Huntspon of Jackson ; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and friends . Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me; I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, oh, yes, these things I, too, will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I've savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don 't lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now - He set me free. Processional. Selection. . . . . . He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters ; he restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
