Carine L. Martin Laird finished her work on earth, May 29, 2014 at 10:20 A.M. She has entered into eternal rest. 
Carine, affectionately known as "Si", was the eldest of seven children, born on September 30, 1924 to Dan and Vinie Martin. She leaves to rejoice her homegoing: Marthada Glover of Detroit, Michigan, Ila Vee Martin of Little Rock, .Arkansas. 
She was preceded in death by rtievelt Martin, Darius rvfartin, Wilhemia Martin and Ethel Thomas. 
Carine professed Christ at an early age and remained faithful throughout her lifetime. She was an active member at St. Peters Methodist Church in Willisville, Arkansas, and a mother at The First Church of the Redeem in Detriot Michigan for many years. 
Carine graduated from Willisville High School and shortly thereafter married John H. Laird, Jr. on her eighteenth birthday. To this union six children were born, who will always remember her as a strong, independent and a sacrificing mother: John H. Laird, III., (Charlie), Gwendolyn Laird, Roger Laird, (Beverly), Patricia James (Samuel), Aaron Laird, and Wayne Laird and her adopted daughter, Erma Jackson. She had eight grandchildren: Patrice Laird Walker, Travis Laird (Heather), Darrin Laird, Gailyn Laird, Kevin Jones, Brandi Whitners (Anthony), Aaron Laird, Jr., Wanda Laird and eight great-grandchildren. 
Corrine and John moved to Detroit, Michigan m 1947. She diligently pursued a data processing certification. She worked at Detroit Receiving Hospital and Herman I<.eefer Hospital while raising a family. She retired in 1984. 
Carine became sick in 2012 and on November 20, 2012 relocated to Stockbridge, Georgia to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Samuel and Patricia James. 
On May 29, 2014, she closed her eyes and said yes to the Lord. Carine blessed and touched many lives and was dearly loved.
