God shared her with us for 34 beautiful and glorious years. Ola was the baby of the Jones family. She was born on November 10, 1957, in Spokane, Washing- ton. Ola departed this life on Friday, January 31, 1992, in Tampa, FL. From early childhood she was an exceptional child full ofvigor and love for everyone that she encountered throughout her life. Being reared by devout Christian parents she united with the Calvary Baptist Church of Spokane, Washington at the tender age of seven. Ola was not just a joiner but a worker. She was the product ofa military family, so making new friends became easy. After living abroad the Jones family returned stateside and moved back to Macon as homebase. Olajoined theNew Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoralship of Rev. Edsel M. Davis. She was an active young member during high school until she went off to Morris Brown College of Atlanta, GA. Ola excelled academically and athletically at Northeast High School of Macon, GA and Morris Brown College. Ola had the distinct prestigious honor of being the only female in the school's history to receive a Morris Brown Wolverine blanket. Ola was an outstanding young Christian woman, all who knew her will attest to this. Ola was a faithful member of the Bible Base Fellowship Church of Tampa, FL, Rev. Ran Mason the Pastor. She graduated from Morris Brown College of Atlanta, GA, where she received the Bachelor ofArts in Science Degree. With degree and credentials in hand she became gainfully employed with K-Mart, Inc., where she consistently advanced. Ola was the Manager-of-Apparel, K-Mart, Inc. of Tampa, FLat the time of her passing. Ola's lovely memory will be eternally cherished by: her parents, Mr. and Mrs. henry R. Etta M. Brown of Bronx, NY and Mrs. Leola H. Maynard of Macon, GA; three paternal uncles, Mr. Ray J. Hill of Spokane, Washington and Mr. Silas Maynard of Macon, GA; two great maternal uncles, Mr. Ben Hill of Macon and Walker C. Hill of Gray; two great maternal aunts, Mrs. Ida B. Mortimore and Mrs. Luvenia Peeples of Macon; three paternal uncles, Mr. Jimmy H. Jones and Mrs. Harvey L. Peeples of Macon, and Mr. James Driskell of Detroit, MI; two paternal aunts, Mrs. Mattie J. Peeples of Macon and Mrs. Dorothy E. Driskell of Detroit, MI; one great paternal aunt, Mrs. Ella N. Patterson, ofMacon; a host ofother relatives and friends. FOOTPRINTS One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking upon a beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets offootprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene ofhis life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path ofhis life there was only one set offootprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints, I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you.
