 Marion Wright Jones was born June 24, 1900 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sara McClease Wright, and the founder of the Wright and Brown Family Reunion. 
She was a dedicated member of Little Salem Christian Church, and served as president of the Christian Women's Fellowship for a number of years. She was an honorary member of the White Rose Court of Calanthe. 
She succumbed to death on Sunday, June 9, 1985, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville, North Carolina. 
She is survived by two daughters, Miss Dorothy Jones of New York City, New York and Mrs. Reita Hamlet of Reidsville, North Carolina; one sonin-law, Charlie Hamlet of Reidsville, North Carolina; five grandchildren; four nephews and one niece; and many other relatives and friends. 
Swing, softly, beauteous gates ofdeath, To let a waiting soul pass on; Achievement crowns life 's purposes And victory is forever won. 
Swing softly, softly, heavenly gate, Thy portal passed, no more to roam; Our traveler finds herjourney o'er And rest at last in "Home Sweet Home."
