OBITUARY Brother James Jefferson was born on December 2, 1889 in Richland Parish to the late Ned and Bessie Jefferson. He departed this life on Thursday, October 2, 1975 at 2:30p.m. in Chicago, Illinois. He was baptized into the membership of the Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Archibald, Louisiana. He later united with the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend H. P. Pope. He was crowned deacon by the late Reverend H. Y. Bell in 1933. He held this office at the time of his death. He leaves to mourn: his wife, Sister Classie Jefferson, Monroe, Louisiana; two daughters, Sister Susie Jefferson, Rayville, Louisiana; Sister Mylee Funches, Chicago, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other r<.latives and friends.
