RECESSIONAL In M em.ory Interment - Church Cemetery So hard to bear, that you have gone, So sudden and so quiet; A candle on a starless hill, Against the windy night. So sweet your life you freely gave For others shone your light. How can we turn and find you gone, Who always stood nearby? How can we smile witbout your lips To curve in warm reply? How can we sing when our whole hearts Are so inclined to cry? Yet this we know, as reason comes Belated, to console; Somewhere you are so much more real, Where destinies unfold; Where dark is light and death is life, And dross becomes p~re gold.
