ROBERT HORTON, son of the late John Horton and Luella Williams Horton was born in Lexington, Mississippi on April 3, 1923. He departed this life on October 5, 1983.
He attended SweetWater Church. \Vhen he became of age he joined the Anned Service, After which he returned to Mississippi for a while he then moved to Chicago, Illinois where he worked for many years. He met and married Gertrude Taylor. To this union was born nine children.
Robert leaves to mourn a loving wife, Gertrude; five sons, Robert Jr., Gregory, Don, Craig, and Keith; four daughters, Karen, Linda, Sheila, Robin; twenty grand children, three sisters,
Robert will be greatly missed, he was loved by everyone. He a1\vays had something to say to make you laugh and cheer you up . But God loved him best and took hin! home to rest.
I needed the quiet so he drew me aside, Into the shadows where we could confide. Atcay from the bustle where all the day long I hurried and worried when active and strong. I needed the quiet tho at first I rebelled But gently, so gently, my cross he upheld. And whispered so sweetly of spiritual thing Tho weakened in body, my spirit took wings. To heights never dreamed of when actively gay. He ll)ved me so greatly, he drew me away.
