Herron, II, in Coahoma, Mississippi. He attended scho?ls there, graduating from a private high school. Deacon Isom H. Herron, III entered Alcorn College in 1938 and there met Miss Juanita CrooL:, who became his wife in December of 1941. He graduated from college in 1942 and was in the U.S. Army for four years, serving in Europe and in tlb.e Philippines. After th.e war he worked for several years, living in St. Louis, before returni-ng to gradu&te school &nd obtained his MPH in N ortb. Carolina. With hi s growing young family, they moved to Cb.ic&go in 1951, where he hegan working for the T uberc;-.losis Institute &s a Health EJ.uca.tor. In 1956, Deacon Herron took & position with ICA (what is now USAID) in Kingston, Jamaica. He was transferred to Monrovia, Liberia in 1964 and returned to the USA in 1972, to s~Hle in Atlanta and work with the U. S. Public Heald1 ervice, from_ which he later retired with milit&ry officers' rank of Colonel. Deacon Isom Herron, III, was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church, ordained a Deacon at the G reater Bethesda Baptist Church in Chicago. He also served as Deacon at Providence Baptist Church in Monrovia, Liberi& and at the Union Baptist Church in Atlanta-. He w&s Deacon Emeritus at Christian Fellowship Baptist Churcb.. Deacon Isom Herron, HII, entered into eternal rest on aturday, October 3, 1998. A sister, Beulah Janet F ran.klin passed away on the following Tuesday. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Mrs. J u&nita C. Herron of Atlanta, Georg!_a; four children, Dr. Isom Herron, IV of Troy, New York. (twins) - Mrs. Melinda Herron-Peersman of Paris, F ranee and Dr. Merinda Herron of Atlanta and Mr. Quentin Herron of College Park, Georgi&; eleven grandchildren; ' sisters, Julius Marie Herron J&ckson, Velma ..._4..lexis Crayton, Mary Alice Williams, Ruth helby, Earlene Green and Maxine Meeks; brothers, Eldridge St&nford, Otis Stanford and H&rry Earl Stanford; an aunt, Myrtis J.
