She was the tenth of twelve children born to this union. Irma lived a long, full life and accepted her invitation to rest in the bosom of Jesus on July 29, 2016 . Born in Hiram, Georgia, Irma lived her early years there . She joined the Sweet Home Baptist Church at an early age, then moved her membership to the Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church when she married and moved to the Yorkville Community. On December 11, 1948, she married L. J. Heard, and they remained married for 63 years until his death. Irma and L. J. raised eight children together. Being a great family person, she spent the majority of her time with her children and grandchildren. Her home was her castle and her kitchen her domain, as she was known throughout the county for her cooking. She loved baking cakes and would bake them for anyone and everyone. She was a friend to anybody she met and an unofficial adoptive mother to many, many people. Known for her frankness, she didn't mind calling a spade a spade, which was one of her more endearing qualities. But her best and most unique quality was that she met and accepted you wherever you were with no judgement. This is the quality that drew so many people to her. She was dearly loved and will be dearly missed. She joins her husband, L. J. Heard, Sr., two daughters, Nancy Heard and Karen Heard Dobbs, and one son, Kenneth R. Heard, and leaves the following people to rejoice in her home going. Two sons and their.wives: Larry (Juana) Heard and L.J.
