Was _born January 31, 1961 to the late James and Martha Whitt-Hawkins in Atlanta, Georgia. LaKing attended the Atlanta Public School System and then attended Tuskegee University. Thereafter, he joined the military where he served in Desert Storm. Unfortunately on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, LaKing departed this life at Fayette Piedmont Hospital. The memory of LaKing will be mourned and forever cherished by his four sons, LaKing Hawkins, Jr., Brandon Hines-Hawkins, Aaron Hawkins and Collen Hawkins and daughter, Shaquetta Lester and ten grandchildren. LaKing also leaves to cherish his brother, Quinton Oliver; five sisters, Monica "Fat" Hawkins, Marlene Hawkins, Harriette Hawkins, Belinda Oliver and Dereka Thomas.
