Grogan was born July 8, 1922 to the parentage of Richard and Aurena Thomas in College Park, Georgia. She was the youngest of eight children, all of whom preceded her in death. They are as follows: Marcus, Richard, Sam, Laura, Marvin, James and Laulene. She attended Bayard Street School in South Fulton County, Georgia. Although Minnie received a license to practice cosmetology, her love for people led her to work for Dr. Regina Herzfeld for an extended amount of time. Minnie was a faithful member of New Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church where she was a beloved Sunday School teacher. She had an ability to teach with the love of God. She served as Missionary President and was a member of the Stewardess Board until her health declined. Minnie was married to the late Charles Grogan of Roswell, Georgia. Charles was the love of her life and she knew it at first glance. She was a wonderful person who exhibited great humility and love for all. She had a pleasing personality and an exquisite taste for the finer things in life. She leaves behind to celebrate her life a host of family and friends who loved and will miss her strong, humorous, and sophisticated ways.
