Sheals, Pastor 0 bituaryf or g.~ 5fwmp"cm ~ (To everything there is a season) and a time to every purpose under heaven'' Ecclesiastes 3:1 Florence Thompson Grogan passed away at home on April 24, 2013, after an extended illness. Florence was born on July 27, 1928 in Norcross, Georgia, the youngest of parents Eugene Thompson and Slety Ella Boyce Thompson. She graduated from Norcross Elementary School and Washington High School in Atlanta. Florence grew up in and loved her Norcross community and was devoted to the Hopewell Baptist Church where she was baptized at an early age and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was the devoted wife of Reverend Joshua J, Grogan, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1997, after nearly fifty years of marriage and four children: Helen Teresa, Sandra Oohnson), Joshua Jr., and Cheryl Grogan. Always active in her children's education, she served on the PTA boards and was shepherd for a flock of Bluebirds for several years. For decades, she was a tireless volunteer with March of Dimes. She is survived by her three daughters, daughter-in-law, Fedra Grogan; son-in-law, Cedric Johnson; four grandchildren, Jacie Hester, Larry Gardner, Joshua III, and Amber Johnson; five greatgrandchildren, India and Sierra Sapp, Da'Meatri Pass, Ja-Brella Hester and Shawn Johnson (Stacia Young); sisters-in-law, Christine Thompson and Minnie Grogan and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
