The eighty-eight years that mother lived, she saw many things in her life, the dreadful Vietnam War, and all the wars in the Gulf Coast the most recent being the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War, the dreadful Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. 
Mother saw the terrible injustice done to Africa Americans, such as the bombing of the church in Alabama in the 1950's that resulted in the deaths of four young girls. The march on Selma, Alabama where dogs were set loose on the marchers, a~d ~ere water hose was sprayed on the people. 
Mother saw her generation moved from the ice box to the refrigerator, she saw her generation move from rubbing board and wash pot to the washing machine, from the wood stove to the gas stove, to the electric stove. 
 
Mother saw the invention of the television in the 1950's. Mother is older than panty hose, older than Viagra, the microwave oven, the cell phone, CD's and DVD's, hot wings, microwave popcorn, pampers, the internet, breast implants, strawberry daiquiri and a slow gin fizz, fake nails, hair weaves, and adult diapers. 
 
Mother saw the works of Martin Luther King "The I Have a Dream Speech". Mother lived to see 
 
the First African American become President. President Barack Obama. Mother saw many changes and new inventions in her life time. And now she is in Heaven having that Great family reunion with her

On June 22nct 1922 in Phenix City, Alabama, $~ c;;Ew ~was born to 
 
the union of Sarah Patterson Holloway and Anderson Holloway. $~was the youngest 
 
of six daughters, all whom preceded her in death. The family was members of Pine Hill 
 
Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama. 
In 1940, $~and Joe Golden were married and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, 
and to this union two daughters were born, Barbara Jean and Erma Jean. They were a 
 
military family from 1944 to 1948 and wherever Joe was stationed, $~and the girls 
 
were there also. 
 
The family lived in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Brooklyn, New York and Fort Dix, 
 
New Jersey. After Joe's honorable discharge from the military in 1948, the family 
 
moved back to Phenix City, Alabama, and remained there until 1950 when they returned to Indianapolis. In the 1950's, $~united with the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist 
 
Church, where she served on the Usher Board for many years until her health failed. $~'SI hobbies included having a vegetable and flower garden every summer, 
 
and sharing vegetables with her family and friends. Her beautiful flowers from her 
 
flower garden were all around her house, and her suitcase was always packed and ready to travel. 
 
On Wednesday, September 29, 2010, a beautiful and meaningful life came to an end, when $~ c;;Ew ~ c(j~ was called to her Heavenly Home. $a<Jie, was 
 
preceded in death by her husband, Joe; daughter, Barbara; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Georgia and son-in-law, Emmitt Daniel; seven grandchildren, Debbie Morris, Tonya 
 
Hughes and Derrick Morris of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tracy Daniel of Stockbridge, 
 
Georgia, Dana Daniel and Dion Daniel of Decatur, Georgia and Jeffrey Golden of 
 
Covington, Georgia; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister-in- 
 
law, Louise Golden of Phenix City, Alabama, numerous nieces and nephews, Tabernacle church family and many friends.
