Nathaniel Hercules, Senior Pastor Officiating hituaru The Reverend Dr. Ulric George, a pastor, preacher, teacher, and devoted husband and father, passed from this life, May 11, 1992. Dr. George was a native of Trinidad, West Indies, and a citizen of the United States of America. He came to this country in 1954 to seek further training for the ministry through the influence of the late Bishops W. R. Wilkes and R. R. Wright. In 1955, he matriculated at Wilberforce University in Zenia, Ohio. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia and entered Morris Brown College, where he received the A.B. degree. He received the B.D. degree from Turner Theological Seminary (lTC), the Master of Science degree (Guidance and Counseling) from Fort Valley State College, and the Honorary Doctor's degree from Turner Theological Seminary. The Christian Ministry of Reverend Dr. George covers a period of twenty-seven years; one year at Greenfield A.M.E. Church, Greenfield, Ohio, seven years at Fountain Temple A. M.E. Church, Atlanta, Georgia, approximately thirteen years at Greater St. Peter A.M.E. Church, Fort Valley, Georgia where a beautiful sanctuary and education building were erected under his pastorate, and almost six years at Turner Monumental A.M.E. Church, Atlanta, Georgia where significant improvements were made. At the close of his pastorate at Turner Monumental A.M.E. Church, he supernumerated at the Annual Conference in June, 1982. He then became a member and Associate Pastor of St. Mark A.M.E. Church. In addition to his ministerial experience, Dr. George was a baritone concert artist, having appeared as guest soloist for many A.M.E. General Conferences and in recitals in many local churches. Professionally, he taught Social Studies at Peach County High School and the Fort Valley State College Upward Bound Program, also Black Theology at the Macon, Georgia In -Service Program of Turner Theological Seminary. He also served as Advisor to the President of Morris Brown College for International Student Affa irs. The Reverend Dr. George was a christian gentleman; a great pulpiteer, a member of the A lpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and formerly President and Secretary of the Ministers Union of Atlanta and vicinity. He was also a member of the Independent Daughters and Sons of Bethel. He was married to Elaine George, during this union six children were born . She preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Frye in 1972. From this marriage, he inherited one son and two daughters. As a servant of God, a devoted husband, a father, a grandfather, spiritual father, advisor, counselor, and friend, he will be missed. However, monuments of stone and flesh remain to say that Reverend Dr. George passed this way, and has planted seeds of service, perpetually in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Jacqueline F. G_eorge; sons, Mr. Kenrick George, and Mr. Rodrick George; daughters, the Honorable and Mrs. John Junor (Urla), Ms. Olga Stevens, Mrs. Myrna Abiru, and Ms. Carol Smith; a stepson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Frye (Margaret); two stepdaughters, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Malone (Beverly), and Mr. and Mrs. William T. Roberson (Jacqueline); grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends. ~~Yes, Servant of God ... Well Done ... Rest from thy Loved Employ!" -H.
