It was evident to her family during her formative years that LaKita would develop into a powerful vessel and willing servant for the Lord. Her love for God permeated through her radiant smile and warm spirit. LaKita often worked to aid around the city and was employed by PruittHealth Fairburn for the past eight years. LaKita also lovingly tapped into another area of giftedness and founded Facets of Love, which specialized in designing creative atmospheres for married couples to foster communication, intimacy and love. She became known for providing exceptional event planning and balloon decor for birthday parties, graduations, weddings, and anniversaries. LaKita gave of her time and talent willingly and with obedience to God. others as much as she could. As an adult, she united with Ben Hill United Methodist Church in Atlanta, where she was a faithful and active member. In 1992, LaKita had the distinct honor of being chosen by her peers as Miss Hampton University and represented the university with style and grace.
