The one we loved and knew as Mom, Grandmother, sister, aunt and friend .. stepped across the threshold we call eternity; it was only a ~tep into another room; and not stepping out ofthe fellowship oflife. 
We, the family, how with humble submission to God; rejoicing that her life was well spent, preparingfor her journey !tome. Estelle Coe Edwards, daughter of Gideon Coe and Dora Johnson, was horn on Apri/2, 1922 in Darlington, South Carolina. She received Iter education from Rosewald Elementary and Roundo High School in Mt. 
Claire, South Carolina. She accepted God in her life at im early age 
at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in South Carolina. 
Estelle was united in holy matrimony to the late James Edwards on January 2, 1939. They moved to New York and then to Philadelphia andfrom this union four daughters andjive sons were horn. 
Estelle was an angel oflove. She had love for anyone and everyone. Site loved children so much, she was in the child care business sir.ce the age ofeight and untilfive years ago, when she finally retired A clean house . .. that was a must. Cooking was a love passion and you could not leave her home unless you had eaten. She could turn home made biscuits and any kind ofbeans into a ten star meaL That was happyfood, she was happy-you were happy andyour stomach was happy. She could make finger waves in your hair that would bring an ocean to disgrace, and let's notforget those curls. You could wet them with water trying to loosen them up and they would bounce hack like a spring in a mattress- I guess you can say "A Jeri Curl before its time." Feeling bad? Estelle had a curefor whatever ails you. You needed no drugstore. She would go in her kitcl,.r:..n and come out with your medicine at no charge. God gave her the mind and hands of a miracle worker. And it all camefrom the heart. In addition to rearing Iter own children, she shared the name uMom" with other young people. Her love nurturing continues to shine on us today. 
She leaves a legacy oflove andfound memories to her daughters, Rose, Katlzleen,Cysvera and Cyslesia; her sons, James, Howard, Ernest,Jolm and Keith; thirty grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; one great, great, great grandchild; three sisters, Naomi Bostic and Mary Poole ofSouth Carolina and Dora Adams of Phi/a.; three brothers, Gideon Coe ofNew Jersey, Judge Coe ofMorton Pa., and Isaiah Coe ofSouth Carolina; four sisters-in-law; four daughters-in-law, Mildred, Sandy, Felicia and Chon; six sons-in-law and an abundance ofnieces and nephews; old and newfriends.

POEM Lord, thank you for this very special friend . Lord, I have this very wonderful friend, and I would like to  
thank you with all my heart, for creating her and letting her enrich my life. Thank you for all the years we've known each other and the confidences and hopes and troubles that we've shared. Thank you for the understanding we bring to each other. For the patience we have with each other's faul~, for the advice and em1 the scoldings we are able to give to each other without either of us taking offense. Thank you for the help we have been to each other- in this way, and so many more. Thank you that because of her I am a better, happier person, and that she has grown as a person too, became of me. Thank you that she would give me anything in her power time, money, work, possessions, encouragement, sympathy -whatever my need. And that she knows I would be as quick to respond to whateYer her needs might be. 
Thank you that we can laugh, cry, ind rejoice together. And 
although we may not see each other as often as we would like, when we do come together it is always the same. Lord, bless and keep her, this person you fashioned and filled with qualities that have meant so much to me. Lord, thank you for this very special friend ... My Grandmother.
