A. Hart, Pastor The Reverend Gerry Anderson, Eulogist Sunrise: June 14, 1961 Sunset: June 26, 2003 Michael Wynn Dorsey was born on June 14, 1961 to the parents of Ethel L. Moody and Tea Dorsey in Atlanta, Georgia. He departed this life on June 26, 2003 after a lengthy illness. He attended the Fulton County Publics Schools and graduated from College Park High School in 1979. After graduation, Michael enlisted in the U S Navy for four years. After receiving an honorable discharge from the military, he received his certification as a heating and air conditioning technician. Following his training, Michael utilized his skills at the Marriott Marquis for several years and was later employed by Coca~Cola Company. Prior to becoming ill, Michael's dedication and devout work ethic was demonstrated by never missing one day of work in four years. At a very early age, Michael joined Grant Chapel AME Church in East Point, Georgia under the leadership of Reverend H. E. Terrell and later faithfully attended New Macedonia Baptist Church in Riverdale, Georgia under the leadership of Reverend Gerry Anderson. Throughout his illness, Michael's strong faith in God sustained him. Although Michael had no children of his own, he loved them all. He enjoyed spending time with his younger cousins, nieces, and nephews who idolized him. As a strong role model, Michael became a mentor, playmate and spoiler of all children. His outgoing personality enabled him to make friends easily and was affectionately called "R ed Dog." He leaves to c~erish his memor1 es: n devoted mother , Ms. Ethel L. Moody; his father , Mr. Tea Dorsey; three brothers, Mr. and Mrs. James Tony Freeman (Jeanette); Mr. and Mrs. Rickey Dorsey, Sr. (Gina) and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Dorsey (Veronica); two sisters, Ms. Cheryl D. Freeman and Ms. Lakeisha P. Moody; two nephews, TeDerek Freeman and Rickey Dorsey, Jr. ; six nieces, Mrs. Shamia Williams (Douglas), Rykia Dorsey, Gia Dorsey, Ciera Dorsey, Makayla Moody and Olivia Dorsey; four aunts, three uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
