EJP~ October 4, 1930 June 2, 2010 Mrs. Helen Elder Daniel entered into eternal rest quietly on the morning ofJune 2, 2010 in Riverdale, Georgia. Helen was one of twelve children born to the late Earl and Ophelia Elder of Farmington, Georgia, Oconee County, born on October 4, 1930. Helen graduated from the Athens High and Industrial School in Athens, Georgia in 1948. After her marriage to the late Johnny C. Daniel, she relocated with him to Atlanta, Georgia where she lived the remainder of her life. Helen was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital as a medical aide, at the Piedmont Sheffield Building, and retired from the Piedmont Nephrology Doctors Building. Helen was employed for over 40 years in the medical field. . Helen loved the Lord and was united with the Mt. Ephraim Baptist church many years ago and served faithfully until her health declined. Helen served as coordinator of the kitchen ministry, established the ''feed the homeless ministry", served on the Official Board as a Deaconess and sang in the Senior Choir (Inspirational Voices) and the Mass Choir, Helen loved everyone; helped anyone who needed help, cooked and fed anyone who was hungry at any time. In fact, Helen was a Godly example of "service before self''; she was not a selfish wotnan but a ~.o4ly Qne. Helen was "love" and had many, many gifts, one was "cooking"! Helen also loved her family and always wanted to be with them no matter if there was a special occasion or not- she just ~anted to "get together", cooking for them, feeding them, and enjoying them. Many times the "family gatf?erings" included several extended family members and friends, she enjoyed these times so much. Hef~n loved her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny C. Daniel, one daughter, Sandra Yvonne Daniel, one grandson, Michael B. Platt, one great granddaughter, Kennedy Lauren Platt. Helen leaves to cherish her precious memories, four sons, Frank Platt, Jr. (Elizabeth), Athens, Georgia; Stanley Daniel (Renee), Marietta, Georgia; Johnny Daniel (Joi), College Park, Georgia; Eric Daniel, Atlanta, Georgi~; one daughter, Patricia Denson, Riverdale, Georgia, daughter-in-law, Karma Bambara and son-in-law, Willie Dee Denson, Jr. She also leaves fourteen grandchildren; Carl V. Platt, Roderick D. Platt, Ivee E. Terry, Corey Daniel, Ashley Johnson, Reniel Daniel, Stanee Daniel, Christopher Ryan Daniel, Shannon Hatcher, Tiffany Williams, Zoe Daniel, Preston Daniel, Helaina Denson, and Deiana Denson. Helen also leaves eight great grandchildren; Morgan B. Platt, Karl Jordan Platt, Taylor D. Platt, Roderick Douglass Platt II, Michael Anthony Platt, MacKenzie E. Teiry, Peyton A. Terry, and Ryan Elise Watts. Helen also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ella Crawford (Jimmy) of College Park, Georgia and Ms. Ezzie Elder of Atlanta, Georgia, a host of other loving niec~s, nephe~s, ' cousins, and a host of friends. "~ lt ;.;; Additionally she leaves two adopted family members whom she loved dearly that have been a source of comfort not o~ly to her, but to the entire family over the years and especially throughout her illness.
