Ithone carried the . love of her parents into her own generations. ' Having confessed Christ at an early age, at Union Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. J. M. Brown, Ithone was a very active member. She belonged to the Union Bethel Benevolent Society and the Rose of Sharon Society. Ithone was a graduate of McDonogh #35 Senior High School, class of 1939. She also attended Straight Business School. On February 28, 1946, Ithone Herbert married Leonard Compton, Jr. who preceeded her in death on September 18, 1985. She leaves to rejoice in her memoryher children: Leonard Compton, III of Lansing, Michigan, Linda M. Compton, Renard Compton,Sr., and Gilda Compton Compton Williams. Her grandchildren are: Leonard Compton, IV, and Anita Compton of South Carolina, Daniell and Michell Compton of Michigan, Chrislyn and Sharmar Compton --Of Baton Rouge, La., Yolanda and McArthur McLaughlin, II, Dawnielle and Donald Ray Williams, Jr., Requel, Renard, Jr., Other family members include: her sister- in-law, Sarah c. Nicholas, Eleanor and Herman Gains of Marina Del Ray, CA, Evangeline and Mack Henton, Obie and Ellen Compton of Alexandria, . LA. her son-in-law,Donald Ray Williams of Baton ,. ...
