Heard (deceased) and Mrs. Julie Ann Heard, was born on November 9, 1944. She made the transition from her earthly home to her heavenly reward on Friday, July 25, 2014. Lorraine was a strong advocate for education. She attended C. W. Hill Elementary School and completed her high school education at David T. Howard High School where she was a proud majorette in the marching band. She continued her education at Georgia Perimeter College and began her career with Atlanta Public School System - John Hope and Perkerson Elementary Schools. She retired in 2007 after thirty-six years of dedicated service. Lorraine was a valuable leader in the community and local school systems. She received numerous awards for parent of the year and leadership awards from the Order of Eastern Star. At an early age, she accepted Christ and was affiliated with several churches before rededicating her life to Zion Hill Baptist Church in 1996 where she was a member of the Usher Board. Lorraine was a fum believer in the power of prayer. Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted mother Mrs. Julie Ann Heard. She was the mother of eight children where three preceded her in death, Bernard, J ohnathan, and Cherressa. Her remaining children include Raymond Cofer, Elaine (DeSalle) Holmes, LoLita (Bruce) Ringfield, Dion Cofer, Diontae Cofer and Cherressa's son Johnny Veal; eleven grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren and a host of loving family and friends vvho mourn her passing.
