He was educated in the Bartow County School System and later moved to Atlanta, Georgia with his mother. While living in Atlanta, Wallace met his wife, Mary Pearl Jones and they were blessed with eight children that they raised together until her untimely death. Wallace was a hard worker and wonderful provider. He devoted his life to his family and worked at Colonial Stores faithfully for thirty-seven years. Later in life he met his lifetime companion, Ms. Claudette Releford with whom he was blessed with two more children that they raised together until her passing. Wallace was preceded in death by both his parents, Marie and John Cochran; wife, Mary Cochran; sister, Margie Boyd; brother, Jimmy Cochran; son, Gary Mason, and companion, Claudette Releford. His memory will forever live on with the loved ones he left behind: five daughters, Rosa Brooks, Brenda Sowell (Joseph), Valencia Releford, Patricia Rush (Lewis) and Tracy Flanagan; four sons, Marcellus Mason, Wallace Mason, Charlie Mason, and Johnny Releford. He also leaves 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
