To My Beautiful Mommy, 
I love you so much! You have taught me everything. The Lord could not have blessed 1ne with anyone better because you are the perfect mother for me. No one else could ever measure up to your strength, character, tenacity, spirit and most of all, your love and compassion. Oh, what a beautiful person and mother you are! I can still hear and feel you in my heart; your excited voice saying, "Oh Nika", whenever I called. This still makes me smile and feel warm even after your human voice speaks no more. 
I am hurting so deeply but, I know and I am thankful that you are now resting with peace and happiness amongst you. I know that the Lord has you in his best care. All of these years, I have prayed for your happiness, comfort, peace and safety but, I never expected that your homegoing was the answer to my prayers. 
Mommy, always know that I love you so much and so deeply. We have many great memories, and I look forward to the many more that we have yet to share. Stay with me Mommy! Stay with me! Please remember my love as I will always honor, cherish and love you with more than just my heart but, with all of my soul and spirit. I dedic.ate my life, heart, family and happiness to you. There will never be another like you so please watch over me and all of us. Granddaddy, Nana, Wynelle, Jeannie, Morgan, Carey and Steve all love you dearly and need you too!

Patricia Washington Clement, the oldest daughter of James C. and Alice Holmes Washington, was born March 18, 1944 in Atlanta. She was privileged to enjoy the love and guidance of maternal grandparents, Dr. Hamilton M. Holmes and Pattie Reaves Holmes; and paternal grandparents, the late James S. and Lillie Washington Coleman of Monroe, Louisiana. 
She attended "old" Oglethorpe Elementa()' School, B. T. Washington High School, Spelman College and Atlanta University. Her musical interests and talents were developed by caring instructors at each educational level. Her recent return to the "First Church" choir was highly rewarding. 
Pat was married to William A. "Bill" Clement, Jr., and from this union, a daughter, Anika Patrice Clement was born. 
Her initial employment in human services was with Economic Opportunity Atlanta. Later work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Charlotte, NC centered on services to senior citizens. A long affiliation with the Atlanta Job Corps provided stimulating opportunities in many capacities of increasing responsibility. 
As an outgoing, vibrant, people-oriented person interested in nutrition, health and well ness, she became a successful business entrepreneur. For four years she was owner of Toddy Town, a vendor affiliate of Soaring Eagles, Inc., receiving regional, national and international recognition . Part-time employment with DiaiAmerica earned her distinction as a top representative locally and nationally. 
Pat enjoyed membership in Jack and Jill of America, Inc.; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; The Chautauqua Literary Circle and the First Congregational Church, UCC. _ 
She is survived by her daughter, Anika Patrice; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Washington; two sisters, Wynelle Washington Scott and Alice Jean Washington; her nieces, Morgan Nichole Scott and Alice Carey Washington; two aunts, Mrs. Isabella Holmes and Mrs. Marie Holmes; one uncle, Harold Holmes of Westbury, N.Y.; a future son-in-law, Steven G. Wharton; The Calloway, Clement and Holmes families and a host of other relatives and friends.
