She peacefuUy departed this life surrounded by her loved ones on N ovember 2, 2014 at the Danville Regional Medical Center. At a very young age Ethel joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she was a devoted member up until her health dedined. She attended Pittsylvania County schools. She worked for Dan River for 35 years until the plant closed in 2004. She was a loving devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Mary Lee Watkins, Armstead Johnson ]r., W illiam Johnson, Virginia Davis, and Willard Clifton Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 50 years lames Rayfeild Cannon; Three daughters Felicia Crews (Thomas) of Pelham, NC.
