Brother Larry Frank Burdette, Sr. was born on December II, I947 to the parents of Deacon R B. and Luevenia Burdette in Atlanta, Georgia. God called Larry home on Friday, March 31, 2000 and he answered, transcending to celestial peace. 
He graduated from Carver High School in I965 and served in the U.S. Army. In his early years he was a member of Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Greater St. Peter AME Church (now known as First St. Peter), where he was active on the Steward Board, Sunday School, Usher Board, Bus Ministry, the Young People's Department, and whereever he was needed. 
He leaves to cherish his memory his faithful and devoted wife, Sundra (Cookie) Burdette; four sons, Larry, Jr., Mr. & Mrs. Michael Burdette, Sr.(Canisa), Kelvin and Andre; five daughters, Mr. & Mrs. Reginald Tinch(Ulanda), Yemi, Latosha, Shaundra and Brandi; grandchildren, Kimmalei, Charisse, Jamecca, l\.1ichael, Jr., Regia and Andre, Jr.; mother-in-law, Frances Lee; stepmother-in law, Dorothy Lee; one brother-in-law, Horace Lee~ one sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Randolph Redish(Damell); two brothers, Johnny and Samuel Burdette; three sisters, Mr. & Mrs. Butler Robbins (Ruby), Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Lambert(Deborah) and Connie Burdette; four aunts, Laura Burdette, Evelyn Perry, Ella Mae Lackey and Berta Smith; two aunts-inlaw, Mildred Poole and Willie Jean Scott; Goddaughter, Yolonda Kendricks; special friends, Joyce McDaniel, Elayne Harper, Willie Tucker and Cheryl Ferguson; several adopted children and grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends.

I thank God for the time we have had together. Birdie, I know your work is through here on earth. You have done what God has asked you to do. It is hard for me to believe that God has taken you away from me, but He knows best. 
Birdie, your love did not begin and end with us, your family. Your love reached out and, touched so many people's heart young, and old. They also saw you stand on the word of God. You knew the importance of giving and sharing. You did so with an open heart, and an open hand. 
Birdie, you brought into my life a sense of purpose, you brought laughter, and a strong sense of family, unity, and security. God truly blessed me by allowing me to share my life with you. Birdie, the memory of your strength and fervent in life should serve as an example, as encouragement to any whose lives were touched b)' your presence. 
I love you, Birdie.
