W." was born June 8, 1919 to the late Ida Hightower-Bowens and Mike Bowens of McDonough, Georgia. As a child he moved to Atlanta and joined Providence Baptist Church. He was committed to his country and served in the U. S. Military. James departed this life on Monday, September 22, 2003. One daughter, Mrs. Sharon Tabb preceded him in death. He leaves loving memories to: three loving daughters, Mrs. Joyce Price "B onnie" Mrs. Patsy Frazer and Ms. Sandra B. Cullins; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Harris; stepson , Mr. Barron Elder; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Swann and Mrs. Lois Allen; Lillie Bowens; eleven grandchildren, William (Linda), Sytira, Donald, Jr., Tewanna (Therron), Darrell, Sabrina (Jermone), Antwain, II (Kim), Roderick (Pam), Juanis (Keisha), Tavius and Syderrius; twelve great grandchildren, Quiana, Keyon, Akia, Shanae', Kyle, Gavin, Kendall, Rodriguez, Armani, Brianna, Trinity and Tavion; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. "The Best" God saw the road was getting tired And a cure was not to be So He put His arms around you And whispered, "Come To Me " With tearful eyes we watched you And saw you pass away, Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay .
