Our father knows what's best for us so why should we complain? Such was the life of Bonnie Ruth Benton. She was born in Rebecca, Georgia to the late Green Bryant and Elizabeth Bryant. She accepted Christ as her Lord and personal savior at an early age by being baptized and attending Piney Grove Baptist Church in Rebecca, Georgia. 
She attended elementary and high school in Turner County. After graduating from high school, she moved to Atlanta where she met and married James Benton. To this union, five daughters were born, the late Brenda Benton, the late Shirley Tanks, Jackie Benton, Janice Boyd and Betty Jean Peak. 
She was employed for many years by Dobbs House International as a food services technician, where she was affectionately known as "Miss Bonnie". 
Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, James Benton; mother, Elizabeth Bryant; daughters, Jackie Benton, Janice Boyd, and Betty Jean Peak; sons-inlaw, Patrick Boyd, Jr. and Anthony Peak; nine grandchildren, James Benton, Kellen Benton, Fajr Poole, Patrick Boyd, Jr., Zenobia Benton, Devon Boyd, Joshua Benton, Saddiqa Benton and Alim Benton; five sisters, Inez Walker, Annie J ean Burke, Blondean Greene, Vivian Dixon, and Vera Callahan; three brothers, Milton Bryant, Alton Bryant, and Calvin Bryant; five-brothers-in-law, Herbert Walker, Samuel Burke, Jesse D. Greene, Vernon Dixon, and Larry Callahan; one sister-in-law, Hazel Bryant, and a host of other relatives 
and friends. 
Afterglow
