Stembridge, Officiating Pastor Obituary MR. JAMES EDWARD BAILEY was born on July 13, 1935 and departed this life March 8, 1996. He was the son of the late Janie Ruth Bailey Boddie and Ralph Bailey. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of the St. Paul A. M. E. Church. He served on the Steward Board and was a faithful member. James served more than 20 years in the Army. After retiring he worked as a Juvenile Delinquent Officer. James was united in Holy Matrimony to Bobbie Jean Rogers. To this union five children were born. He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Anthony Bailey, Jefferey Bailey, of Atlanta, Ga.; James Bailey, Jr., Kansas City, Ks.; two daughters, Cheryl (Peaches) Holifield, of Kansas City, Ks.; Marie Bailey, Atlanta, Ga.; his sister and brother-in-law, Maude (Shirley) and Andrew Jackson, of Atlanta, Ga.; two aunts, Nellie Reid, of Atlanta, Ga.; Lillie Bell Dix, of Hogansville, Ga.; three nephews, Zachary Ringer, Alfonza Ringer, Ashley Jackson, a son-in-law, Frank; five grandchildren, Deandre' and Desmond Bailey, Bridgette Bailey, Ashley Bailey, and Alexis Holifield and a host of relatives and friends. God looked around his garden and found an empty space. Then he looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best. It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone, For part of us went with you , the day God called you home.
