Thomas Officiating On June 13, 1945, Helen Evelyn Angel, the eighth child, was born to the union of the late Arsvelt and Elizabeth Angel in Randolph County, Alabama. Helen attended the schools of Randolph County and graduated from Wedowee High School. As a young girl, she was baptized and received the right hand of fellowship into Mt. Gilead. As an adult, she united with the Ben Hill United Methodist Church, Atlanta, Georgia. During her life, Helen lived in New York City where she worked for the United States Postal Service and spent time with her late brother, Carnell Angel. She later moved to Atlanta working for Sears while living in College Park, Georgia. In 1982, Helen gave birth to her son, Terrance L. Penn, whom she loved dearly and gave her utmost attention. She raised him in several areas around the city while working forAmerican Greetings Cards. Helen was a woman of happiness and joy. She greeted everyone with a smile and loving spirit. In her spare time, her deepest passion was watching sports. Because of her son's college, she became a huge fan of the Auburn Tigers. She also enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by an older brother, Carnell Angel and two sisters, Lucille Angel and Sandra Thomas. Helen will be lovingly remembered and leaves to cherish her joyous memories, a loving son, Terrance L. Penn; three sisters, Roxsie Brown, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Frances (Ken) Turner, and Arrie Jean Angel, Douglasville, Georgia; sisterin-law, Eugenia B. Angel, Jamaica, New York; two aunts, Lillie Middlebrook and Gladys King; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
