Willie Howard Allen was born in Fayette County, Georgia on April 4, 1926. He was the first child of Arthur and Tessie Mae Allen. 
As a young man he joined the military and served his county in World War II. He married Birdia Mae Lemon in August of 1948 in Lovejoy, Georgia. He moved to Atlanta in 1951. He retired from the Georgia Marble Setting Company after 30 years of employment. 
After a battle with complication of diabetes and heart failure, he departed this life on October 16, 2005. He was preceded in death by his third son, Willie Horace. He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Mrs. Birdia Mae Allen; two sons, Roney and Anthony Allen; two daughters, Barbara Sewell and Twanda Brooks; grandsons, Anthony, Marcus, London, Ryan, Christopher and Michael; granddaughters, Candice, Keon, Katrina, Lawanda "Nee-Nee" and Crystal (Goober); one nephew, Larry Allen; two cousins, Alphonzo Whitaker & Farnjly and Dorothy G!"ace Arnold & Family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
