- Description:
- In part two of this two-part interview, Jay Pryor recalls returning home from Vietnam on Friday the 13th and how that day now has special meaning for him and his family. He comments on the public's attitude toward the Vietnam War and Vietnam veterans at the time of his return and how that attitude seems to differ in communities in the South. He describes rough weather he experienced during his time in the Navy and the methods the crew would use to anchor plates and chairs to the table. He recalls an incident when the alarm for general quarters was accidentally set off. He remembers the best friends he met through his military service and participating in Wreaths Across America by laying wreaths on the graves at Arlington National Cemetery. He reflects on his gratitude for his wife, child, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
