This consolidation was a direct result of the Great Depression's effect on the rural counties. As a result Fulton County's school system began operating the schools in those areas; and as a first measure of this operation, teachers who had taught in Campbell and Milton schools had to apply for positions in the county that inherited them. Ms. N.H.
