Web site update
The Georgia Historic Resources Survey is an ongoing, statewide survey of buildings, sites, structures, and objects of historical, architectural, and cultural significance. A goal of the Georgia Survey is to collect, as uniformly and reliably as possible, a minimum level of information needed statewide for preservation activities. Visit our Web site at: http://hpd.dnr.state.ga.us/content/displaycontent.asp?txtDocument=288 to see the newly posted definitions and illustrations of the following architectural types identified for Georgia: stores, churches, schools and barns.

National Register news
The following properties were recently listed in the National Register of Historic Places:
Decatur Waterworks is located northeast of downtown Decatur, DeKalb County, in north central Georgia. The complex, which was constructed over time during the early to mid-20th century, supplied water to the City of Decatur, the county seat of DeKalb County, until the 1940s. During the late 1930s it also became a public park and served as an emergency back up to the new county water system. Several resources remain on the property from each use. The period of significance is 1906-1955.
The Crawfordville Historic District encompasses the contiguous historic commercial, residential, industrial, community landmark, and recreational resources associated with the historic development of Crawfordville. The town is located in central Taliaferro County in east central Georgia and serves as the county seat. The period of significance is 1826-1956.
