Georgia Department of Labor schedules veterans job fair in Columbus
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Columbus Career Center and the Association of United States Army (AUSA) will co-sponsor the 4th annual job fair for employers, veterans, and other job seekers in the area. The event will be held Thursday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Building 2411 at Fort Benning in Columbus.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Columbus area together with veterans and other job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 130 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
