Georgia Department of Labor schedules youth job fair in Elberton
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Elberton Career Center, the Elberton/Broad River Area Employer Committee, and Elbert County Comprehensive High School will co-sponsor a job fair to help youth 16-19 years old find jobs and career opportunities.
The youth job fair will be held Thursday, April 26, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon at the high school gymnasium, located at 600 Abernathy Circle in Elberton.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This youth job fair is designed to bring Elberton area employers and organizations together with youth who are seeking employment or career guidance. Almost 150 students and 20 employers and organizations participated in the youth job fair last year. And I encourage the employers and youth in the area to participate again this year."
The event will feature about 20 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Employers who would like to participate in the youth job fair should contact the Elberton Career Center at (706) 213-2028.
