Georgia Department of Labor schedules veterans' job fair in Warner Robins
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Houston County Career Center and the Middle Georgia Employer Committee will co-sponsor a job fair for employers, veterans and other job seekers in the area.
The event will be held Thursday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Museum of Aviation, located at Highway 247 and Russell Parkway, near Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Warner Robins area together with veterans and other job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 70 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: AT&T, ADECCO, ARINC, Bibb County Government, Capital City Bank, City of Macon, Cox Communications, Flint Energies, Georgia Army National Guard, Georgia Department of Corrections, GEICO, General Steel, GIGA, Goodwill Industries, Home Depot, Houston County Schools, Jeff Smith, Kelly Services, Man Tech, MARTA, Netsoft Association, Quantech Services, SAIC, Spherion, Standard Technology, SunTrust, and Troops-To-Teachers.
