Georgia Department of Labor schedules career expo/job fair in LaGrange
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's LaGrange Career Center and the West Georgia/LaGrange Employer Committee, along with West Georgia Technical College, will co-sponsor a career expo and job fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
The event will be held Tuesday, April 24, from 1-4 p.m. at the technical college's Callaway Center Building, located at 303 Fort Dr. in LaGrange.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This career expo and job fair is designed to bring LaGrange area employers and organizations together with those who are seeking employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 35 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: Ambassador Personnel, American Home Shield, Angio-Dynamics, Bonnell Manufacturing, Callaway Gardens, Caremaster Medical Services, City of LaGrange Police Department, Custom Truck and Body Works, Emerson Network Power, Express Personnel Services, Interfaceflor Commercial, LaGrange Toyota, Manpower, Mau Workforce Solutions, Milliken and Company, Resource Manufacturing, SAFA, LLC, T-Mobile, Trinidad Benham Corporation, Troup County Schools and Government, Wal-Mart Stores, West Georgia Health Systems, Wheelabrator, and Win-Pak Films.
