Thurmond to hold press conference at Disaster Unemployment Assistance Center in Americus Tuesday
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond will hold a press conference at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the Georgia Department of Labor's Disaster Unemployment Assistance Center in Americus.
The commissioner will take this opportunity to outline how individuals, including those who are self-employed, who have lost their jobs or livelihood as a result of last week's storm can file for unemployment compensation, including regular unemployment insurance or disaster unemployment insurance.
The DUA Center is located at the Griffin Bell Aerospace Technology Center on the South Georgia Technical College campus on Southerfield Road in Americus.
Members of the news media are encouraged to attend the press conference.
