Labor department schedules job fair in Gainesville
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Gainesville Career Center and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor a job fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
The event will be held Wednesday, April 11, from 12 noon until 3 p.m. at the Georgia Mountain Center, located at 301 Main St. in Gainesville.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "We are happy to be partnering with the local chamber of commerce to bring Gainesville area employers and organizations together with those who are seeking employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature more than 20 employers that will be hiring to full current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: Ace Hardware, Adams Transfer and Storage, CareMaster Medical Services, Etcon Staffing, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Food Lion, Georgia Mountains School of Massage, KarMa Marketing, Lake Lanier Islands, Mansfield Oil Company, Packaging Specialists of Georgia, Summit Consulting, TRC Staffing Services and TRC Professional Services.
