Labor department schedules job fair in Lithonia
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's DeKalb Career Center and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church will cosponsor a job fair for employers and job seekers in the area. The event will be held Wednesday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church's Life Center, located at 6400 Woodrow Rd. in Lithonia.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair is designed to bring DeKalb County area employers and organizations together with those who are seeking employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature more than 40 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: Adecco, AICS, AIU, Aramark Aviation, Army National Guard, AT&T, Avon, Captain D's, Care Master Medical Services, Cherokee Sheriff's Office, Clearpoint Resources, Cobb County Department of Public Safety and Sheriff's Office, Columbus Police Department, Dart Container, David's Bridal, DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and Police Department, Devlin Partners, Employment Seeker, Flash Sites On Line, Fortune Hi-Tech, Global Diagnostic Services, GRN Community Service Board, IKON Office Solutions, Lane Bryant, Loomis, Fargo and Company, Mary Kay, Norred and Associates, Office Depot, Orkin, Inc., Perimeter Staffing, Pre-Paid Legal Services, Primerica Financial, Securamerica, Smurfit-Stone, Tenser Corporation, U. S. Army, and United Parcel Service (UPS).
