Clear Channel Radio Job Fair Scheduled
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Columbus Career Center will assist Clear Channel Radio and Columbus Technical College with its fourth annual job fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair is designed to support higher education, as well as local, regional, and national industries by putting employers in contact with prospective employees. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, educational and career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event has been set for Thursday, Feb. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the South Hall of the Columbus Trade Center, 801 Front Ave. The event will feature about 150 employers, along with colleges and universities. More than 5,000 visitors are expected to attend.
Among employers expected to participate are: Accounting Principals, AFLAC, AIG American General, Alexander Electric Company, Avon, Chattahoochee Valley Community College, Cherokee Sheriff's Office, Cobb County Sheriff's Office, Columbus Police Department, Columbus Water Works, Georgia Department of Corrections, Home Depot, LaGrange Police Department, Mosley Clinic of Chiropractic, Muscogee County Sheriff's Office, Omega Training GP, Opelika Police Department, Pratt and Whitney, Primerica, Staffing Solutions, State Farm Insurance, Strayer University, Tillinghurst Adult Education, TSYS, University of Phoenix, and the Waffle House.
