Statesboro regional job fair scheduled
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Statesboro Career Center, the Statesboro-Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce, and several other local organizations will sponsor a regional job fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
Other sponsors include: Coastal Workforce Services, IKON Office Solutions, and Statesboro Mall, where the job fair will be held Friday, Aug. 11, from 2-5 p.m. The mall is located off Highway 80 East in Statesboro. The event will feature about 25 employers.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This regional job fair will bring employers and organizations together with job seekers who are seeking career guidance and possible future employment. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."
Representatives from area businesses will be on hand to display their businesses to the public and discuss possible employment opportunities with their companies. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: Briggs and Stratton, Bulloch County Government, Bulloch County Schools, Collins Trucking, Crider Poultry, East Georgia Regional Hospital, Flash Foods/Clydes Market, Nesmith Management Group, Northland Cable, Ogeechee Technical College, Snelling Personnel Services, The Sack Company, United American Insurance, U. S. Army and Air Force, and the Wal-Mart Distribution Center.
