Gainesville area job fair scheduled
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Gainesville Career Center, along with other local organizations, will cosponsor a job fair for employers and job seekers in the area. Other sponsors include the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce and Spherion Staffing, a private employment agency.
The job fair will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 3-6 p.m. at the Georgia Mountains Center, 301 Main St. in Gainesville. The event will feature about 30 employers.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair is designed to bring area employers and organizations together with job seekers who are looking for career guidance and possible future employment. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."
Representatives from area businesses will be on hand to display their businesses to the public and discuss possible employment opportunities with their companies. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: BB&T, Brenau University, Care Master Medical Services, Etcon Staffing, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, GB&T Bankshares, Hall County government, Hire Dynamics, Lake Lanier Islands, Mansfield Oil Company, Primerica Financial Services, Sage Software, Spherion Staffing, Summit Consulting, TRC Staffing Services, TRC Professional Services, Unisia Systems, Watkins Chiropractic, Walgreens, and WillStaff Worldwide.
