Labor department to co-sponsor seminar on federal overtime and minimum wage laws in Jasper
ATLANTA The Georgia Department of Labor's Blue Ridge Career Center and the North Georgia Employer Committee will co-sponsor a seminar on federal overtime and minimum wage laws for employers in the area.
The employer committee is a group of local business representatives who establish and maintain a working relationship between the employer community and the career center.
The seminar will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Appalachian Technical College's Economic Development Building, 100 Campus Dr. in Jasper. It is designed for human resource personnel, supervisors, team leaders, managers, chief-executive officers, consultants, and small business owners.
Two Atlanta attorneys David H. Grigereit and John G. Skinner -- will conduct the seminar. It will focus on the new U. S. Department of Labor regulations on "White Collar" exemptions to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), overtime, and minimum wage requirements.
