MACON AREA JOB OPENINGS NOW AVAILABLE ON CITY TELEVISION
MACON -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond and Macon Mayor C. Jack Ellis said today that Georgia Job TV, a unique program that allows television viewers to search for jobs from the convenience of their homes, is now available in Macon.
Georgia Job TV is seen over the Macon City Government Access Channel each day at 7 a.m., noon and 9 p.m. The city's television service is carried on Cox Communications cable channel 14.
Mayor Ellis said the city is pleased to work with the Georgia Department of Labor in offering Job TV. "It is just one aspect of technology we are utilizing to help make the citizens of Macon aware of job opportunities. I hope everyone takes advantage of the service," said Ellis.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "We're excited about partnering with Mayor Ellis and the city of Macon to provide this valuable service to job seekers and employers. We've wanted to do this for a long time, and it's because of Mayor Ellis' leadership and cooperation that Job TV is now available in Macon."
Job TV provides 160 job openings listed with the Georgia Department of Labor in the Macon area. The job listings are updated each weekday. Each listing includes the job title, location, salary, education and experience requirements, and a job number. Viewers should use the job number when visiting any of the state labor department's career centers to obtain additional information, or to inquire about applying for the job. Labor department staff refer all qualified applicants to the employers for their consideration.
