YOUTH JOB FAIR SET FOR DEKALB COUNTY TUESDAY, AUGUST 1

ATLANTA -- The Georgia Department of Labor's North Metro Atlanta Career Center will sponsor a job fair next week in DeKalb County for young people between the ages of 16 and 21.

Called "Youth Opportunities 2000 -- Georgia's Future Workforce," the job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the labor department's career center at 2943 North Druid Hills Rd. The career center is located in the Toco Hills Shopping Center at the intersection of North Druid Hills and LaVista roads.

"Youth Opportunities 2000" is an initiative of the labor department that is designed to bring young Georgians and businesses together to achieve their common goals. Young people receive work experience and businesses fill their employment needs.

Employers scheduled to participate in the job fair include: Rich's, The GAP, Cici's Pizza, WorldCom, Harris Teeter, Kmart Corp, Arby's, Embassy Suites, AmeriCorps, and Sears. Openings include full-time and part-time jobs for summer work and year-round positions.

Also, applicants must be able to produce a Georgia driver's license or valid picture identification, along with a Social Security card or birth certificate. Original documents, not copies, will be required.
