AUGUSTA AREA VETERANS JOB FAIR SET FOR TUESDAY, MAY 2

ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor and several veterans groups will sponsor a job fair for veterans and other job seekers in the Augusta area.

The job fair is set for Tuesday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fort Gordon Bingo Parlor in Building 15500 on 15th Street at Fort Gordon. Other sponsors of the job fair include the American Legion, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the U.S. Army/Directorate of Community Activities at Fort Gordon.

Employers from the Augusta area are scheduled to attend the job fair and discuss a wide-range of job openings, including management and supervisory positions, as well as full-time, part-time and entry-level jobs.

Personnel of the labor department will be on hand to answer questions about career counseling or employment services available from the department.
