THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER

BY THE GOVERNOR:

FLAGS ON STATE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS ORDERED TO HALF STAFF

WHEREAS: The citizens of the United States of America mourn the passing of the Honorable Antonin G. Scalia; and

WHEREAS: Having been appointed by President Ronald Reagan, Justice Scalia honorably served this nation as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Comt of the United States of America for nearly thhty years; and

WHEREAS: In accordance with U.S. Flag Code, it is fitting and proper to fly the flag of the United States of America at half-staff in honor of and to recognize the passing of an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Comt.

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

ORDERED: That the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Georgia be flown at half-staff on all state buildings and grounds from this date until the date of Justice Scalia's interment.
